Bill Fox!
I was excited to read this morning that Bill Fox, who led Cleveland's mighty Mice in the 80's and then put out a couple amazing solo albums -- i pulled out the unbelievable Shelter From the Smoke today -- before quitting music and disappearing from public life (as it even existed for him at that point -- i don't think he was a touring machine or anything) is beginning the new year with a couple shows in his hometown! His first in nearly a decade.
I Rock Cleveland blog has the story and i only wish i could see those shows...
You can get the Mice CD over at Scat Records and supposedly they're reissuing the solo albums as well at some point...

Never mind all that: when are we going to be able to get a CD-quality version of Superchunk covering Bye Bye Kitty Cat?
hmmm i don't think we ever recorded it in a CD-quality way! or any way at all....
That's a shame; I used to have the RealAudio version (live in San Francisco) from the Superchunk website bookmarked, but that was several laptops ago.
I'd happily kill (okay, insult) for clear live versions of that and Superchunk's cover of Love Vigilantes.
Bill is playing Feb. 12th at The Happy Dog in Cleveland. If you come through, perhaps we could get both of you on a night. I'm one of the new owners. just a thought-sean
Scat reissue of "Shelter" released yesterday.
any interest in Bill show in NC?
