Nueva Entrada

according to the browser on the PC here at the hotel in Spain (wi-fi in the rooms 22 euros per night!? the internet is valuable but not THAT valuable) this is a nueva entrada in my blog.

i apologize for never even summarizing our great CMJ experience (3 shows in 2 days, 2 of them highly enjoyable - thanks sound fix records! nice place there) but then i got caught up in packing for this trip and obsessing about elections. speaking of which, COULD TUESDAY HAVE GONE MUCH BETTER FOR THE US OF A? I DON´T THINK SO. tammy duckworth and a couple other hopefulls excepted, it´s been an exhilarating 48 hours on that front, way to go people.

on the rock front, i´m thoroughly jetlagged and ready to recover for tomorrow night´s mward set and then the portastatic set on sunday night, all here in castellon spain at the Tanned Tin Festival. we already visited the coolest bar in Castellon - Casa Verde - and had some good fried fish, but tomorrow i´ll be able to think straighter i hope.

ok hasta mañana

Only 2 of the 3 CMJ shows were good? Hope you're including Knitting Factory! Thought you and Margaret were great that night. Random guy was pretty entertaining too!

northsix was the only weird one ... it wasn´t terrible, just too early to be in a bar!

all in all a good weekend though.

Rock on! Felt bad for Tammy, but 4 years ago that was an "unwinnable" seat. Almost won it.

greaaaaaat show. the "bravo" guy was singing along to sour shores, which I think is the greatest compliment that one can receive. the guy who liked every act, even the ones who pretended to not want to be there. Now that I think about it, he was probably the curator or something... Way to bring back the rock, sir.

I love the bravo guy! He made up for the guy who was asleep in front of me (granted it was 3 a.m. by the time we went on...)
And I was impressed by the 3rd row for the majority of the festival. They were my favorites to watch since at least a couple of the guys there were so excited about everything and would give random standing ovations.

i spoke to a guy from madrid who said that even in spain he is known as "bravo guy" for his enthusiasm, and he's not even the curator, just a fan ("and a journalist of sorts" whatever that means).

good times, more of a tanned tin wrap-up to come when i get some pics outta my camera...
