News of the World

it's just strange hearing the news-y voice of Charles Gibson saying the word "Superchunk."

for more on indie rock from your source of indie rock information, ABC News, there's an interview i did here with Dan Harris, who is actually a huge fan. Jeez i look uncomfortable....must stop watching now.

shit! i saw that on a blog earlier and my mind was completely blown. this interview is totally awesome; as if dan harris was asking the questions i've always had about all things related to merge, sc, portastatic and independent music in general.

i really hope superchunk can go out and play soon; i would have sold everything i had to see you in nc or coachella but i can't get away from school so close to finals. but i seriously considered it: i've listened to you since high school and never once seen you live - pains of living in oklahoma.

stay well.

Mac, fun fact: Charlie Gibson is a WPRB alumnus. So in a way, it was meant to be...?

When CG says "Superchunk," it kinda sounds like he's dropping a brick in a puddle. ChunKKKK.

Loved the interview, in particular the things you had to say about Dischord and Merge. I love that labels like yours make the records available to preview. It almost always makes me want to buy the record even more.

I echo Robert's comment too - some great questions. Very clear that he's a fan!

Great stuff. Lovin' the blue blazer as well. But more importantly, UNBELIEVABLE finish in NJ last night. I went to bed with a couple minutes left, having given up on my dream of the Canes facing the B's in the next round. Woke up this morning and had to rub my eyes a few times before I could believe the score. Almost as good an ending as BU over Miami in the NCAA finals earlier this month! Anyway, no doubt all eyes will be on Pittsburgh/Caps with the dual showmen on display (great amp by the way), but I can't wait for the Bs/Canes to get started. Here's to a great series. Bruins in 7!
